Types of data collected
The site automatically collects Usage Data (IP address, pages visited, session length, browser and operating system) and technical Trackers required for the site to function. Further data (texts, voice recordings, questionnaire answers, Echo-Vault materials) is collected only if you voluntarily provide it through the Talk to Yourself, Marketplace or Echo-Vault products, never automatically.
Purposes of processing
Data is processed to provide the requested service, comply with legal obligations, respond to authority requests, protect our rights and those of users, detect potential fraudulent use, and to display content from external platforms (Google Fonts).
Data of deceased persons (Echo-Vault)
For Echo-Vault, family members or a person designated in life by the deceased may provide us with texts, recordings, photographs and other materials concerning that person. We treat this data as sensitive data, with stronger protection measures than the site's ordinary usage data.
We collect these materials only after verifying that whoever provides them has the right to do so under our shared-consent rules (see "How it works" and the dedicated Echo-Vault section on the Products page). In case of disagreement among those with equal standing, we suspend collection and profile activation until an agreement is reached.
Whoever gave the initial consent may request its withdrawal and the deletion of the materials at any time, within the same response timeframes as other deletion requests described in this policy.
Legal basis and retention
We process your data on the basis of your explicit consent, the performance of a contract or pre-contractual obligations, compliance with a legal obligation, or our legitimate interest. Data is retained for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected for; for Echo-Vault, materials remain archived until consent to activation is withdrawn or the profile is deleted upon request.
Third-party services
Google Fonts (Google LLC, United States): typeface display service for the site. Processes Usage Data and Trackers. Provider's policy: https://business.safety.google/privacy/. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising tools.

Your rights (GDPR)
You have the right to access your data, rectify it, erase it, restrict its processing, object to processing, request portability and withdraw consent at any time. You can exercise these rights by writing to info@backupmeinstitute.com; we respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos).
Additional information
We may need to disclose personal data upon request of public authorities or to protect our rights in legal proceedings. We keep system logs for maintenance and security purposes. We reserve the right to update this policy: the date of the last update is shown at the top of the page; where changes substantially affect consent-based processing, we will request new consent as required by law.
